Pasar Bambaru is one of the key traditional markets in Palu City that has experienced a decline in activity after the 2018 disaster and subsequent renovation. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of retail locations in Pasar Bambaru based on four main variables: accessibility, physical site conditions, management, and government policy. A descriptive approach was employed using field observations, interviews with traders and market administrators, and a review of relevant documents. The findings reveal that accessibility is relatively adequate but hindered by narrow roads and illegal parking, reducing visitor comfort. The physical site has not been fully optimized, as the second and third floors remain inactive and several basic facilities are insufficient. Market management is still ineffective, particularly in terms of cleanliness, zoning arrangements, trader regulation, and visitor-attraction strategies. Although government policies referring to Presidential Regulation No. 112 of 2007 exist, their implementation remains suboptimal. Overall, the suitability level of Pasar Bambaru as a retail location is categorized as moderate and requires targeted improvements through physical revitalization, strengthened management, better accessibility, and more consistent policy enforcement to restore its role as a local economic hub.
